Terms and Conditions for Het Latin Lab

1. GENERAL INFORMATION

– Het Latin Lab is a language school based in the Netherlands offering Latin American Spanish courses to individuals of various proficiency levels, both online and in-person. By enrolling in any of our courses (online or in-person), you agree to the terms and conditions outlined below.

To enrol in our courses, you must be at least 18 years old or have a parent/legal guardian accept these Terms and Conditions on your behalf. Het Latin Lab processes all personal data in accordance with Dutch privacy laws and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

 

2. PARTIES INVOLVED

• Het Latin Lab: Responsible for delivering the courses and related services.
• User: Any individual accessing Het Latin Lab’s website or resources without necessarily purchasing services.
• Client: Any individual or entity that enrols in and pays for courses provided by Het Latin Lab.

3. COURSE ENROLMENT

– Enrolment is confirmed once full payment is received. If payment is not received by the course start date, the student’s spot in the class may be forfeited, and they may be required to re-enrol in a future course.

-A confirmation email will be sent to the Client detailing the course schedule and terms.

– In case of a change in course dates or cancellations made by Het Latin Lab, students will be notified in advance and offered an alternative course or a refund.

 

4. PAYMENT METHODS

– Payments for all courses must be made via one of the following methods: credit/debit card, PayPal, or bank transfer within the SEPA zone (Single Euro Payments Area). Any transaction fees or currency conversion charges will be borne by the student.

– Payments are due in full before the course begins unless otherwise agreed upon.

– Payment must be received before the first lesson can be attended.

 

5. REFUND POLICY

– Full Refund: Students may request a full refund if they cancel their course at least 10 days before the first class. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of cancellation.

– Partial Refund: A 50% refund is available if the cancellation occurs within 48 hours after the first class. Refunds will be processed within 14 days of cancellation.

– No Refund: After the 48-hour window following the first class, no refunds will be issued. 

– Please note that any fees charged by payment processors (e.g., PayPal, credit card fees) may be deducted from the refund amount.

 

6. SERVICE SPECIFICATIONS

– Clients gain access to course materials and content during the enrolment period. Use of this content is strictly for personal, non-commercial purposes.

– Redistribution, copying, or sharing of Het Latin Lab materials without explicit permission is prohibited.

 

7. TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

– Accessing online classes or materials requires compatible devices and internet access. Het Latin Lab is not responsible for technical issues on the Client’s end.

 

8. CLASS AND SCHEDULE ATTENDANCE

– Classes will be held as per the scheduled timetable. Het Latin Lab reserves the right to adjust class dates and times, provided students are informed in advance. In the event that a class is canceled by Het Latin Lab due to unforeseen circumstances, a rescheduled class or full refund will be offered to affected students.

– Students are expected to attend all classes. If a student misses a class, they are responsible for catching up on any missed material.

– In case of illness or emergencies, students must inform Het Latin Lab as soon as possible.

 

9. DATA PROTECTION AND PRIVACY

– Het Latin Lab values the privacy and confidentiality of its students. Personal data collected during the enrollment process will be processed in accordance with Dutch privacy laws and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Personal data will be stored for as long as the client is engaged with Het Latin Lab and will not be shared with third parties, except for payment processors and other necessary service providers involved in course delivery.

– Students may request access to their personal data or request its removal at any time, in accordance with GDPR rights.

 

10. CONDUCT AND BEHAVOIR 

– Students are expected to behave respectfully towards instructors and other students. Disruptive or inappropriate behaviour, including but not limited to harassment, offensive language, or failure to adhere to the school’s code of conduct, may result in dismissal from the course without a refund.

– Het Latin Lab reserves the right to refuse entry to class or expel any student who violates the school’s code of conduct.

 

11. LIABILITY

– Het Latin Lab will not be held liable for any injuries, loss, or damage incurred by students during the course, whether in-person or online. Students are responsible for their own health and safety during classes. -The school is also not responsible for any personal items lost or stolen during class time.

 

12. MODIFICATIONS OF TERMS

– Het Latin Lab reserves the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be communicated to enrolled students at least 30 days before the effective date of the changes. If students do not agree to the new terms, they may cancel their enrolment and receive a refund.
